My name is Jenna Ward, and I attend the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. I will be going into my senior year in the fall, majoring in public relations with a minor in marketing.

I grew up in the Cedar Falls area my whole life, attending Catholic schools for the whole duration of that time. I have a twin sister, Abby, and an 80-pound golden retriever named Blu! I attended Kirkwood for my first year of college, but sadly, Covid-19 hit in March, moving everything online.

I moved home and decided to transfer to UNI right away once the semester had ended. This ended up being the best decision I have made thus far in my college career. I was able to meet people in my major and take classes that would benefit my career. And I was able to do this all far sooner than I would have been able to had I continued at Kirkwood. Public relations is a unique major in that it connects multiple areas of focus including business, marketing, and journalism!

Becoming an intern for A New Look Exteriors, I hope to gain real-world knowledge and experience that I wouldn’t have been able to get from the seat in a classroom. I hope to further my marketing skills, as well as create relationships with staff and clients. Working with people face-to-face is something I know I am made for, and I am extremely grateful to have this opportunity as an intern.
